Bigg Boss 18: Shehzada Dhami accuses Yeh Rishta… makers of humiliating him

Popular TV actor Shehzada Dhami, who is a participant on Bigg Boss 18, opened up about being ousted from the popular show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. During the premiere episode, Dhami criticised the show’s producers for their ‘unprofessional behaviour’ on set. He also responded to accusations of having an ‘attitude problem’ made by director-producer Rajan Shahi.
Speaking about his experience, Shehzada Dhami recollected being ‘yelled at’ by the show’s makers. He said, “I was the lead actor, portraying the role of an advocate, in a TV show that required me to work 15-hour shifts for six months without taking breaks for food or vacations. Like any dedicated actor, I poured my heart and soul into the project, working tirelessly to bring the show to success. To my surprise, I was suddenly given leave without notice. On my off day, I was called for an urgent meeting called by the producer. When I arrived, he (producer) publicly humiliated and berated me in front of the entire cast and crew of around 150 people.”
Shehzada further added, “On my first day of shooting as a lawyer, the director requested that I wear bracelets up to my wrist. However, the creative head approached me and questioned the choice of bracelets, insisting that they were inconsistent with the character and that lawyers typically do not wear them.”
He explained, “Before shooting the next scene, I remembered to remove the bracelets and gave them to the wardrobe team. When the director noticed that I was no longer wearing them, he became furious, berating me for removing them. I attempted to explain that the creative head had instructed me to do so, but my explanation was met with further shouting and aggression. I was taken aback by his unprofessional behaviour.”
Shehzada continued, “The following day, when I arrived on set, a senior female artist approached me and held my hand while asking me something. As I was about to leave for my shot, someone called me from behind. When I informed the woman that I needed to go, she refused to let go of my hand.”
The TV actor further added, “While all this was happening, the director came up behind me and began to reprimand me. He yelled at me and demanded that I follow his instructions. He said, ‘Meri baat ek baar me sun na. Dusri baar mein main uda deti hoon, samjha. Agli baar yeh hona nahi chahiye (Listen to me once. If you make me repeat myself, it’ll be worse. Understand? Don’t let this happen again).’ After the scene, I approached him in shock and asked why he had spoken to me in such a manner. ‘Tu meri baat nahi sunega, mai aisa hi bolunga’, the director said. The very next hour, the producer calls a meeting and indirectly hurled abuse at me. He shouted at me.”
