Wood stove gasket installation: applicable to Intrepid I, II, Old Defiant *, Resolve, Vigilant stoves
1: Make sure the furnace is cold.
2: Wear protective gloves and goggles.
3: Protect the work area with a drip cloth.
4: Use a screwdriver or scraper to remove the old gasket and clean the door channel to bare metal.
5: Apply a layer of sealant to the gate slot.
6: Press the new gasket into the groove where the glue is applied and close the door to check the air tightness.
7: Trim the washers as needed.
8: Immediately remove any spilled or excess glue with a damp cloth.
