    Description

This redware sgraffito bowl is 10" across the top and the rim is 2" high. Made by the Long Family Potters in Phoenixville, PA,  it features a couple holding hands, with blooming daffodils on either side. The rim has a barely perceptible sawtooth edge. An area 1" wide, bracketed by two bands, has a heart and vines along with the sentiment "I wish you what your heart desires."
The base of the bowl states that the design is based on a North German plate circa 1800s. Below that, under "Long Family Potters, P'ville PA 1988," are the initials CMC, presumably the artist who crafted this piece.
There are zero chips, zero cracks. The topside still has a bright shiny gloss to it and the colors are great. There is crazing throughout, visible if you hold your nose right up to it.
This is a beautiful work of art, and would make a most pleasing display piece. AND it's made in the USA!
