Vintage Japanese Kyoto Die-Cut Bamboo & Washi Paper Sensu Folding Fan: Mar21-BB京扇子司
This is one of a large collection of vintage fans we have acquired and this one was made by the famous Kyosendo shop . This one is a gold chrysamthemum kamon design printed on dark red washi-paper, trimmed in black and is gold-flecked on the back. The struts are die-cut, smoked bamboo with a red tassel.
It is apparently unused but has been stored for many years.
It comes in its original box with the tag from the maker.
It measures
about 14” or 36cm across when open and is about 8" or 20cm long when closed. See photos for other details…
Made in Kyoto Japan
