    Description

    Vintage Japanese Handheld Accordion Folding Fan With Tassel Wooden Spines Floral
    Vintage Japanese hand fan.  Accordion fold with wooden spines.
    Depicts a purple & yellow Water Iris flower display.  Metallic gray across the top.  Marked "JAPAN" on the back.
    There is an inscription on one edge which states:
    to a old friend - Togo (and then 2
    characters)
    Approximately 22” spread
    Approximately 13” tall
    In original box.  One end of the box is marked MADE IN JAPAN and the other end is marked 3/610 D.  There is also pencil writing of "BLUE" on one end and "GTY" on the other.
    Pre-owned.
    The owner is my 98-year-old Japanese friend.  I believe she received this from a friend back home several decades ago.
    The corners of the box are torn and one edge is taped.
