The Phonak Roger Select utilises multiple microphones in six directions.

The Roger Select is a state-of-the-art wireless microphone that incorporates MultiBeam Technology to offer excellent understanding of speech within noise.
The Roger Select is a versatile microphone, ideal for everyday situations where background noise is present. When uséd in conjunction with suitable Roger receivers, such as Roger X ear-level receivers or a Roger MyLink neckloop receiver it connects to a variety of hearing aids. These receivers are sold separately.
Alternatively, the Roger Select iN is the latest version of the Roger Select and has the capability to install Roger receivers directly to Marvel hearing aids for direct streaming – no need to attach an external receiver.
Roger Select can be uséd in many different situations, such as:
In restaurants or cafés
In small group conversations with up to six participants
In one-on-one conversations with a friend, partner or caregiver
During lectures or in class
Outdoors and indoors activities (such as the gym or guided tours)
Watching TV
Phone calls
Audio/voice from the computer or radio and other devices.
Group conversations with up to six participants:
When placed in the centre of a table, the Roger Select automatically detects the person who is talking and seamlessly switches from one person speaking to the next. When multiple conversations take place, you can tap a segment to select whom to listen to, you can add other people by tapping additional segments. To hear the whole group again, you simply tap the centre touch key.
The Roger Select indicator lights indicate to you which microphone segments you have activated, easily indicating your selection of audio direction.
Background noise is no problem for the Roger Select, during streaming this background noise is reduced to give you more clarity of the person speaking.
In one-on-one conversations:
Roger Select allows you to hear a single conversation partner over distance or in very noisy environments, with a range of up to 10 meter/30 feet.
Your friends and family simply clip the Roger Select onto their clothing or hang it around their neck with the lanyard provided. Your Roger Select automatically switches to the appropriate microphone, no hassle switching programmes.
Watching TV:
Using the different types audio cables provided you can choose to connect your docking station into your television. Simply place the Roger Select into your docking station and the TV audio is then streaming to your hearing aids.
Phone calls & Bluetooth:
You can either connect your Roger Select to your mobile phone using the suitable audio cables provided, or you can connect via Bluetooth. Roger Select can be connected to any device that is capable of doing phone calls such as cell phone, landline phones, etc. Provided the device has a Bluetooth or a Bluetooth hub connected.
Your Roger microphone supports Bluetooth Class 2 operation up to a range of 3 meters (10 ft).
You can also hear phone call direct to your hearing aids, accept phone calls, use the Select as a microphone, and end a call all using your Roger Select device.
Other Audio Devices:
To stream audio from other devices such as an MP3 Player, PC or HiFi you use the same method as you would with you TV. Connect your Roger Select using the audio cables provided or connect via Bluetooth.

Connecting the Roger Select to hearing aids:
You can use the Roger Select with most hearing aids, cochlear implants and Bahas. A Roger receiver is required to bring the signal from Roger Select into the hearing system. For most Phonak hearing aids as well for all recent cochlear implant sound processor, there is a design integrated Roger receiver. For other hearing aids, the universal Roger X or Roger MyLink can be uséd.
Roger X Receiver: A Roger X receiver are small and discreet receivers which would be attached to each of the hearing aids using a specific adapter known as a ‘Shoe’. These Roger X receivers and shoes are sold separately.
Roger MyLink Receiver: This receiver is worn around your neck and acts in the same way as the Roger X receiver. You would only need to purchase one, rather than two. The Roger MyLink is also sold separately.
Alternatively, some Phonak devices include the receiver technology which means no additional receivers/parts are required. These devices are named the Roger iN.
