Description
Japanese Antique Ko-Imari 19th Century Edo/Meiji Period 9 3/4" Diameter Arita Porcelain BowlHere is an antique Ko-imari bowl with blue and white glazed rim, two panels of decorative swans with cherry blossoms and trees. Beautifully decorated both on the inside of the bowl and the outside. Measures 9 3/4" diameter x 3 1/4" Height. In good pre-owned antique condition with no chips or cracks. Some glaze flaws at the bottom of the bowl as well as a spot on the rim...see photos. On the bottom of the bowl is a double rim. Also a piece of paper attached that reads, "imari bowl David Weatherford Antiques" suggests that this is a bowl from the mid 1800's Meiji period. I believe that it could even be earlier than that. The Edo period ends in 1868 so it would be as old as that.
