    Description

You are bidding on an original copy of a face jug from the Williamsburg historical collection. This face jug was potted by noted Virginia potter, Bob Arkles, and is signed as such. Additionally, it is impressed with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation mark, as shown in the photos.
The handmade pottery jug is approximately 9“ tall by approximately 6“ at its widest. The piece is in absolutely perfect condition: no chips, cracks, or crazing. There is some separation showing where the handle meets.
Please review and enlarge photos provided for exact condition of the piece, which are included as part of the description.
Bob Arkles was a Michigan Artist and studied art at the Pewabic Pottery Institute under University of Michigan. He studied art and business at Oakland University. He later became a Virginia artist and managed a pottery and demonstration studio on Jamestown Island where he and his staff made pottery in the same 400 year style to sell from this gallery.
