Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece:
This is a beautiful redware plate made in the best Pennsylvania Dutch tradition of Southeastern Pennsylvania. It is rather substantial and weighs over 1 pound and 10 ounces. A definite beauty deserving of a prominent spot in any redware collection.
Condition:
Plate is in very good condition. It has no cracks, no repairs, and no hairlines. The plate has general crazing to the glaze. The plate also has some minor scuff marks on the back off the bunny, a scratch which can be seen at about 7 o'clock on the first photo. The plate has a few of the usual defects you would expect with all these primitive redware pieces such as pops, slubs, unglazed areas, slip error, and uneven spots. These are original to the making and do not distract from the plate's beauty or quality. Please see photos for additional condition information.
